Spectral response of acoustically induced microbending through thin optical fiber is discussed from mode-coupling of core and cladding modes. The thin fiber is analyzed in three-layered structure (core-cladding-air) to gain insights into acousto-optic modulation. We explained the dependence of core and/or cladding diameters on acoustic source parameters from numerical calculations. According to the calculations, we successfully fabricated all-optical tunable filter using this thin fiber that yields an efficient mode-coupling at flexural wave frequencies less than 1MHz. To increase the acousto-optic effect, we used a specially designed thin optical fiber (80 μm of cladding diameter) in the section where flexural wave is produced, and spliced both ends of the thin fiber to the tapered 125 μm fibers. The frequency and voltage tuning of fabricated filter is also confirmed by changing the driven frequency and applied voltage of the PZT, respectively. This result suggests a possibility of fiber-optic device application as all-optical tunable filter at 1.55 μm.  相似文献

We report results of experiments examining cross-phase modulation effect on fiber grating coupler (FGC). All-optical switching are observed in both cases of high pump pulses emitted from high-power Nd:YAG laser and mode-locked EDF laser. Based on coherent detection using a lock-in amplifier, the red-shift of the Bragg wavelength for a FGC was estimated to be 0.04-0.06 nm/1.5-1.7 kW peak power of EDF pump light at 1.55 μm. To avoid mixture of pump pulse and signal light at 1.55 μm, we have also performed the experiment using high power Nd:YAG laser as a pump power. For a Nd:YAG laser, the red-shift of Bragg wavelength is estimated to be 0.06 nm at maximum pump power of 2.1 kW. A simple model for the proposed detection scheme is given and the resultant red-shift is analyzed numerically.  相似文献

We studied the influence of nanoparticles with different surface modifications on the interfacial tension and relaxation of model polymer blend after cessation of different strains. The droplet retraction experiments were carried out on a model system composed of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as the suspending fluid and polyisobutylene (PIB) as droplet at room temperature in the presence of hydrophobic and hydrophilic nanosilica. Different weight fractions of particles were dispersed in the PIB droplet before forming a dispersed droplet by using a microsyringe in shear cell. We found that applied strain, nanoparticle concentration and their thermodynamically preferred localization affect both nominal interfacial tension and droplet retraction process. By addition of nanoparticles at a concentration as low as 0.2%wt, the nominal interfacial tension decreases from 3.12?±?0.15 mN/m for neat PIB-PDMS interface depending on the surface characteristics of nanosilica. Hydrophilic nanosilica has the most effect on nominal interfacial tension and decreases it as low as 0.2?±?0.21 mN/m at 1 wt.% loading under a strain of 7. The results show that the retraction process in this system is mainly controlled by interfacial phenomena rather than bulk rheological properties. Additionally, the shape evolution of droplets changes and the retraction rate slows down in the presence of nanoparticles.  相似文献

Problems of thermodynamic phase transition originate inherently in solidification, combustion and various other significant fields. If the transition region among two locally stable phases is adequately narrow, the dynamics can be modeled by an interface motion. This paper is devoted to exhaustive analysis of the invariant solutions for a modified Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation in two spatial and one temporal dimensions is presented. This nonlinear partial differential equation asymptotically characterizes near planar interfaces, which are marginally long-wave unstable. For this purpose, by applying the classical symmetry method for this model the classical symmetry operators are attained.Moreover, the structure of the Lie algebra of symmetries is discussed and the optimal system of subalgebras, which yields the preliminary classification of group invariant solutions is constructed. Mainly, the Lie invariants corresponding to the infinitesimal symmetry generators as well as associated similarity reduced equations are also pointed out. Furthermore,the nonclassical symmetries of this nonlinear PDE are also comprehensively investigated.  相似文献

Gene expression analysis is considered to be extremely important in many different biological researches. DNA-based diagnostic test, which contributes to DNA identification, has higher specificity, cost, and speed than some biochemical and molecular methods. In this study, we try to use the novel nano technology approach with Multiplex RT-PCR and Gold nano particular probes (GNPs-probes) in order to get gene expression in Curcumas melons. We used Agrobacterium tumefactions for gene transfer and GUS reporter gene as a reporter. After cDNA synthesis, Multiplex PCR and Multiplex RT-PCR techniques were used. Finally, probes were designed for RNA of GUS and Actin genes, and then the analysis of the gene expression using the probes attached to GNPs was carried out and the color changes in the GNPs were applied. In the following, probes hybridization was checked with DNA between 400 to 700 nm wavelengths and the highest rate was observed in the 550 to 650 nm. The results show that the simultaneous use of GNP-attached detectors and Multiplex RT-PCRcan reduce time and costmore considerably than somelaboratory methods for gene expiration investigation. Additionally, it can be seen thatthere is an increase in sensitivity and specificity of our investigation. Based on our findings, this can bea novel study doneusingMultiplex RT-PCRand unmodified AuNPs for gene transfer and expression detection to plants. We can claim that this assay has a remarkable advantage including rapid, cost-effectiveness, specificity and accuracy to detect transfer and expression genes in plants. Also,we can use this technique from other gene expressionsin many different biology samples.  相似文献

A construction of multiple knot B-spline wavelets has been given in [C. K. Chui and E. Quak, Wavelet on a bounded interval, In: D. Braess and L. L. Schumaker, editors. Numerical methods of approximation theory. Basel: Birkhauser Verlag; (1992), pp. 57-76]. In this work, we first modify these wavelets to solve the elliptic (partially) Dirichlet boundary value problems by Galerkin and Petrov Galerkin methods. We generalize this construction to two dimensional case by Tensor product space. In addition, the solution of the system discretized by Galerkin method with modified multiple knot B-spline wavelets is discussed. We also consider a nonlinear partial differential equation for unsteady flows in an open channel called Saint-Venant. Since the solving of this problem by some methods such as finite difference and finite element produce unsuitable approximations specially in the ends of channel, it is solved by multiple knot B-spline wavelet method that yields a very well approximation. Finally, some numerical examples are given to support our theoretical results.  相似文献

Summary: A new route was employed to produce composite polymer nanoparticles. First, a model polymer (a low molecular-weight polyisobutene) was dissolved in a model monomer (styrene) and then the solution was emulsified in water containing a pair of nonionic surfactants via a transitional phase inversion route. After phase inversion, which produced an oil-in-water miniemulsion, polymerisation of the vinyl monomer gave composite polymer particles. Low temperature emulsification was not practical because the inverted oil-in-water emulsions reinverted to water-in-oil emulsions upon raising the temperature to the reaction temperature. Miniemulsions prepared at the reaction temperature with low monomer content in the oil phase showed good stabilty in the course of polymerisation and produced latexes with a particle size similar to the size of drops in the initial miniemulsions.  相似文献

Shear-thinning biomaterials (STBs) based on gelatin-silicate nanoplatelets (SNs) are emerging as an alternative to conventional coiling and clipping techniques in the treatment of vascular anomalies. Improvements in the cohesion of STB hydrogels pave the way toward their translational application in minimally invasive therapies such as endovascular embolization repair. In the present study, sodium phytate (Phyt) additives are used to tune the electrostatic network of SNs-gelatin STBs, thereby promoting their mechanical integrity and facilitating injectability through standard catheters. We show that an optimized amount of Phyt enhances storage modulus by approximately one order of magnitude and reduces injection force by ≈58% without compromising biocompatibility and hydrogel wet stability. The Phyt additives are found to decrease the immune responses induced by SNs. In vitro embolization experiments suggest a significantly lower rate of failure in Phyt-incorporated STBs than in control groups. Furthermore, the addition of Phyt leads to accelerated blood coagulation (reduces clotting time by ≈45% compared to controls) due to the contributions of negatively charged phosphate groups, which aid in the prolonged durability of STB in coagulopathic patients. Therefore, the proposed approach is an effective method for the design of robust and injectable STBs for minimally invasive treatment of vascular malformations.  相似文献
